Making an animation is absolutely time-consuming.
However, I grew up with animations in Japan, and it is definitely one of the things I am truly passionate about.
I like art animation styles like clay animation or hand-drawn frame animations (i.e. Yuri Norstein, Karel Zeman, Koji Yamamoto, Aleksandr Petrov).
These original animations are made with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects.
